Jobcentre Plus support contract
Programme content
The Jobcentre Plus support contract contains a number of modular
programmes designed to boost employability and help customers
to carry out an effective job search.
The programme is split into two core groups of
activities:
- Improving Job
Search
- Getting Ready for
Work
Both are supported by
resource centres for practical support with customers job search
activities.
Improving Job search
modules
- Realistic jobs
for me: Helps customers identify capacity and capability
and addresses perceptions of work
- Doing effective
jobsearch: Helps people recognise transferable skills and
widen their job goals
- Finding and getting
jobs: Covers job search techniques, how to apply for work
and how to get hired
- Jobsearch support for newly
unemployed customers: An introduction to modern job search
techniques
- Skills for work: Giving
customers an understanding of the key skills required by employers
and appropriate workplace behaviour
Getting ready for work modules
- Launch Pad : A four week
work preparation programme for people looking to return to work,
such as parents and carers, followed by a four week work placement
to put new skills into practice.
- Keeping the job : A
mentoring programme providing support for up to 12 months
- Short courses and vocational
training: Certificated training and NVQ programmes
covering gaps in other provision
