 Gardens Growing Taller

Future Jobs Fund Project

22nd April 2010

Pinnacle People's Future Jobs Fund trainees, Adrian Jeans and Mohammed Awil, have helped improve the communal gardens on a West London supported housing project so that elderly residents can continue to be involved in the upkeep of their gardens.

The ‘Rainbow Project’ is a government scheme delivered by Hounslow Homes and Pinnacle PSG, which created raised planters to allow elderly tenants to work on the beds and reach plants from all sides.

It was the residents that originally designed and developed the ideas for the project and they have been continually involved in the process from start to finish. The grant also allowed a range of plants to be purchased for the Lambert Lodge residents to plant up this spring and summer.

Phillip Koppman, the Rainbow Project co-coordinator for Pinnacle PSG said “We really enjoyed the opportunity to stretch ourselves and our skills and, thanks to Hounslow Homes, we are looking forward to undertaking similar projects in the future”.
